Refund Policy Memberships Single and Corporate Membership fees are non-refundable, unless such fee has been charged in error by Women In Insurance (Victoria) (WII (Vic) ). In the event such error occurs, WII (Vic) will take steps to rectify the issue as soon as practicable at no expense to you. Single Memberships are non-transferrable to other persons. Changes can be made to members named on an organisation’s Corporate Membership, in accordance with the terms set out on our Corporate Membership page. Events WII (Vic) reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event. In the event that WII (Vic) cancels an event for any reason, the ticket price paid (if any) will be refunded in full. However, WII (Vic) bears no responsibility for any other costs incurred (such as flights, accommodation, travel expenses or loss of income). If you notify WII (Vic) that you wish to cancel your ticket(s) for an event at least 7 calendar days in advance of the commencement date, the ticket price will be refunded in full, less a 5% cancellation fee to cover the transaction costs. Cancellations notified less than 7 calendar days prior to the event will receive a refund, less 10% of the ticket price. Cancellation notified 24 hours or less prior to the event will not receive a refund. Should you be unable to attend an event for which you have registered, a substitute attendee is welcome to attend in your place, provided WII (Vic) has been notified in writing and in advance of the event. If the substitute attendee is not a member of WII (Vic) and does not qualify for a subsidy, the full the ticket price will apply, and extra payment will be due and payable before the event date. All registered attendees for any WII (Vic) event must have paid their event registration fees in full prior to attending an event or risk non-admission at the event. Refunds will not be provided to registered attendees who do not cancel or do not attend an event. Registration opens 30 August 2024 at 10am . TICKETS Tickets are $100 for members (holders of a current Single or Corporate Membership) and $135 for non-members. There is a cap of 5 tickets per person/Corporate Member. If this cap is exceeded, tickets will be cancelled and a refund processed which will be subject to a 5% cancellation fee to cover transaction costs. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Dr Danielle Ko is a Melbourne-born medical professional who began her career as a professional indemnity lawyer before transitioning to medicine. After qualifying as a GP, she completed fellowships in palliative care and medical ethics at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General. Since 2018, Dr Ko has been a palliative care specialist and clinical ethicist at Austin Health. Now the Divisional Medical Director of Cancer Services, she oversees oncology, hematology, clinical trials, and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. Dr Ko is passionate about transforming cancer care by embedding evidence-based wellness programs from the start of the journey. She actively seeks fresh perspectives from beyond healthcare to drive innovative solutions in cancer care, research, and wellness and well-being programs, all with the goal of delivering truly patient-centered, holistic care. On a personal note, after years of relentless lobbying by her two children, Dr Ko finally caved and got a dog. Now, she's the proud parent of Bernie—a furball who’s always keen for a family hug, and a walk along the Merri Creek.
